Thursday 3pm – 8pm for CoT/Rooted Season & 9am-2pm for Non-CoT Season

Level: Hourly (25-29 hours) | $18.00 per hour

Status: Part-Time

General Functions:

The Kinder-1st Grade Ministry Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Kinder-1st Grade Ministry, ensuring that children experience a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where they can find and follow Jesus.

This role involves recruiting and training volunteers, developing age-appropriate curriculum, managing weekly services, and coordinating special events, while also fostering strong partnerships with parents to support children's faith development at home.

Supervision Received:

Reports directly to the Kid’s Ministry Pastor - employee must seek authorization for broad scope of tasks.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Service Management: Manage assigned ministry rooms and volunteers during our service experiences on Thursdays and Sundays to ensure a smooth and effective operation.
  2. Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead ministry volunteers (small group leaders, teachers, tech leaders, etc.), providing ongoing support and development to maintain a strong volunteer team.
  3. Discipleship: Provide care for volunteers and families within the Kinder-1st Grade Ministry, fostering spiritual growth and a sense of community.
  4. Parent Partnership: Engage and collaborate with parents to support their children’s spiritual development, providing resources, communication, and opportunities for involvement.
  5. Curriculum Development: Create, edit, and prepare the necessary curriculum for the Kinder-1st Grade Ministry, ensuring it is engaging, age-appropriate, and aligns with the church’s mission and values.
  6. Supply Management: Purchase and prepare the necessary elements and supplies for weekend services to ensure all materials are ready and available for effective ministry within budget.
  7. Administrative Tasks: Complete the assigned administrative tasks and weekly ministry requirements, including leader scheduling, leader assimilation, and maintaining accurate records.
  8. Policy Enforcement: Ensure all Eastlake Kids Ministry Policies and Procedures are followed to maintain a safe and secure environment for children and volunteers.
  9. Event Assistance: Assist with designated EastLake Kids Ministry events, contributing to planning, attending, execution, and follow-up activities.
  10. Meeting Participation: Attend designated weekly ministry and staff meetings to collaborate with team members and stay informed about church-wide initiatives and updates.
  11. Support Kid’s Ministry Pastor: Assist the Kid’s Ministry Pastor with assigned responsibilities, providing additional support and leadership as needed.

Required Skills:

  1. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  2. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  3. Experience in recruiting, processing, and training volunteers to support various ministry activities. Ability to identify and engage potential volunteers, fostering a sense of community and purpose.
  4. Demonstrated ability to nurture, support, and provide pastoral care for volunteers. Recognizes the importance of volunteer well-being and works to create a positive and encouraging environment for them to serve.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  6. General audio/visual knowledge
  7. CPR/First-Aid Certification preferred.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions/ Requirements:

  1. Mobile – In and out of office to ensure task completion.
  2. Overtime hours as required by ministry needs.
  3. Church staff is required to abide by the Cultural Expectations (tithe, attendance, conduct, etc.).

  • As a staff person at EastLake Church, I agree to abide by all the provisions of the Employee Handbook.
  • The Church reserves the right, at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job responsibilities, reassign, or transfer job positions, or assign additional job responsibilities.
  • This position is classified by the Church as a PART-TIME paid position and is non-exempt from the overtime provisions, as stated in the Employee Handbook.
